Magenta’s MD Cathy Hayward is to take centre stage on the BIFM Career Zone at the Facilities Show later this month. Taking place from 21-23 June at London’s Excel, the Facilities Show is a key part of the FM networking and educational calendar. On 22 June at 12pm Cathy will be talking about her experiences as a BIFM volunteer over the past five years, specifically the benefits of volunteering including being part of a team, making new contacts, to gaining new skills, boosting your own brand and having fun in the process.
“People often describe being a volunteer as giving up your time for nothing, but it can be a richly rewarding experience where the volunteer offers their time in return for gaining new skills and experiences,” says Cathy. “As deputy chair of the BIFM London Region for the past five years, together with a four year stint as a BIFM Awards judge, I’ve learned an awful lot, as well as being able to give back to the industry.”
