Magenta Associates, the communications specialist for the built environment, has appointed Clare Collins as its crisis communications strategist. Collins brings with her 30 years’ media relations and corporate communications experience across a broad range of industries in the public and private sector, including 20 years’ experience in the food and facilities management sector.
Collins is a crisis and major issues management expert with extensive experience across multiple sectors covering issues such as food contamination, HR issues, union activity, fraud, prison incidents and blackmail. With Collins’ guidance, Magenta will continue to support organisations in the built environment with reputation, issues and crisis management.
Jo Sutherland, Magenta Associates MD, said: “Scandal sells news. And the built environment is not immune. A seemingly low-key issue, if left unchecked, can boil over into full blown crisis that damages the standing of your brand. Magenta has considerable experience in this area, being the first point of contact for media incidents and crises for major organisations. Having Clare onboard as our crisis comms lead will ensure our clients are in the best possible hands – not if but when the worst happens.”
“Like the rest of the Magenta team, Clare is adept at building relationships and trust alongside creating and delivering adaptable communication strategies that influence and negotiate positive outcomes. We’ve worked with Clare for more than three years and we love her collaborative approach – we’re excited about this next chapter.”
Clare Collins commented: “I am thrilled to assume the role of crisis communications strategist at Magenta. With three decades of experience, I have managed a myriad crises, highlighting the paramount significance of organisational preparedness and the need for well-defined processes and plans. Effective management of issues and critical situations is pivotal for the successful protection of brand reputation and I am excited to share my experience with Magenta’s clients and to support them in this important field.”
