Magenta’s Gemma Norris has been accepted on to the BIFM’s ‘Women in FM’ (WiFM) special interest group. She is joining the WiFM team in the role of public communications and press officer.
Under the banner ‘Building Networks, Supporting, Encouraging, Developing, Diversity and Inclusivity’, WiFM has established itself as a supportive network that champions inclusivity for both men and women in their professional development. Its success has been recognised recently at the BIFM’s Annual General Meeting, where WiFM scooped the prestigious SIG of the Year award.
Gemma said of her appointment: “When I joined Magenta a little under a year ago it was my first introduction into FM, and I’ve been astounded by the sheer breadth of the industry. Joining WiFM is a fantastic avenue for me to get more involved. On a personal level, I think that any method of providing a space for women to meet and collaborate – regardless of industry – is to be celebrated. I’ve been incredibly impressed by the calibre of women that I’ve come into contact with in FM, and I’m looking forward to meeting new people and learning from their expertise.”
Gemma is attending her first WiFM event as a fully-fledged committee member tomorrow evening. The seminar hosted at Tower Bridge House in London will delve deeper into the pitfalls of maintenance contracts. To register your interest in attending, click here.
