The BIFM North Region AGM was held on 19th October at Hallmark Cards’ impressive HQ and design centre in Bradford. At the well-attended event, sponsored by Clugston’s, which included a walk through the site’s 25 acre protected woodland, Magenta’s Jackie Bennett Shaw was elected as a member of the regional committee.
“I am honoured to be voted in as a committee member and I look forward to helping the BIFM North Region reach its strategic objectives,” said Bennett Shaw. Under Sue Gott’s chairmanship, the BIFM North Region is a very successful regional committee with around 2000 members. The region aims to provide Continuing Professional Development and Key Learning Events as well as social events, such as the hugely popular annual BIFM North Summer Ball, to appeal to the widest audience possible.
The region currently has seven active network groups across the region in Hull, Leeds, Sheffield, Tyne Tees, Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester and these groups meet on a quarterly or bi-monthly basis.
Magenta MD Cathy Hayward commented: “Jackie has been working informally with the group and I am pleased that she has been able to build on this involvement. The BIFM provides a range of advantages for FM professionals, including the opportunity to gain professional recognition and network. It is a vital resource for the FM industry.”
