Magenta has been named Professional Services business of the year at the 2016 Brighton & Hove Business Awards. At a Bollywood-themed awards ceremony at All Saints church last night, Magenta’s MD Cathy Hayward, together with account director Fiona Buckley and senior account manager Jo Sutherland, were presented with the award by comedian Stephen Grant.
The judges praised Magenta for its excellence in business management under-pinned by a strong financial performance combined with its excellent website and good energy. The company was up against strong competition in the category including a law firm and a recruitment consultancy.
Now in their eleventh year, the BAHBAs are firmly established as the city’s premier business awards scheme. Designed to raise awareness and to celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of Brighton & Hove, the BAHBAs acknowledge and celebrate those companies, organisations and individuals who are helping to build the Brighton brand.
Magenta has been based in Brighton since its launch in 2011, although it also has a base in Lancaster.
“I am thrilled to receive this award,” said Cathy. “Having grown the business from just me in a little office on Grand Parade to now 12 staff and a growing portfolio of B2B clients, the award is testament to the success of the whole team.”
Previous winners have included a mix of start-ups and sole traders, in addition to some of the city’s largest and most influential organisations including Duke of York’s, Infinity Foods, Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, The Grand Brighton, Dockerills, Brighton Pride and The Gingerman Restaurant Group.
