Lionel Prodgers has won the Peter Middup Lifetime Achievement in FM Award at this year’s PFM Awards. The non-executive director of Magenta Associates, who is credited as being a pioneer of facilities management, accepted his award from PFM editor David Strydom and former athlete Roger Black at this week’s glittering ceremony at London’s Brewery. Peter Middup was the much-loved publisher of PFM magazine, who died unexpectedly a few days after the awards two years ago.
Prodgers, who founded in 1984 what is regarded as the UK’s first specialist facilities management company, Facilities & Property Management plc, now provides international consulting services through his company Agents4RM. He has touched all areas of facilities management, including serving as BIFM chairman, chairman of EuroFM and a board director of IFMA, in a career spanning more than 40 years. He became a non-executive director of Magenta Associates in April 2011.
Prodgers is no stranger to the winners’ podium. In 2011, he was awarded the BIFM Award for having a Profound Impact on FM.
